Shahil Khan, born Khalid Khan on July 5, 1987, in Rangapur, Kapilvastu, Nepal, is one of the most influential film editors in the Nepali film industry. He pursued his intermediate studies in Banaras, India, before following his passion for film editing back to Kathmandu, where he trained under Mr. Aslam Khan, Chairperson of Taal Music.

Starting as an assistant editor at Busy Bee Entertainment in 2008, he rose to become a master of his craft — blending traditional Nepali aesthetics with Bollywood energy and Hollywood precision. His work on Dreams (2016) shattered YouTube trailer records and established him as Nepal's premier editing talent.

1987

Born in Rangapur, Kapilvastu

Khalid Khan is born in Yashodhara Rural Municipality, Rangapur, Kapilvastu, Nepal to Nisar Ahmad Khan and Salma Khan.

Early 2000s

Studies in Banaras, India

Crossed the border for intermediate studies in Banaras, India — the cultural capital of Northern India — before a life-changing opportunity called him back to Nepal.

2007

Called to Kathmandu

Left his studies midway to pursue film editing. Trained under Mr. Aslam Khan, Chairperson of Taal Music, in the capital Kathmandu. This marks the official start of his career.

2008

Busy Bee Entertainment

Joined as assistant editor. Over three years, rose to become the main editor — honing his craft and building his unique editing philosophy.

2012

Facebook (2012) & Movie Factory Founded

Delivered his first widely recognized work editing Facebook (2012), directed by Suraj Subba. Same year, registered Movie Factory Pvt Ltd — now one of Nepal's top post-production houses.

2014

Nai Nabhannu La 2 — 51 Days

Worked on one of the most beloved Nepali films of all time. The film featured Priyanka Karki and ran for 51 consecutive days in cinemas — a landmark achievement.

2016

Dreams Breaks Records — Dual LG Awards

The Dreams trailer shattered YouTube records in Nepal. Won LG Film Awards 2016 for Best Trailer Editor (Dreams) and Best Film Editor (Bhairav) — a historic double win.

2017

UK Box Office Film Fare Award

Won Best Trailer Editor at the 10th National Box Office Filmfare 2017 UK for Ke Ma Timro Hoina Ra — gaining international recognition.
